Fungi:

Fungi Section, Botany Department of National Museum of Natural Science has a collection of more than 140,000 specimens, the most abundant of its kind in Taiwan. The specimens are filed and managed with a system which was developed with Delphi program and uses Oracle (Unix) database as its back-end data server. The database of fungus specimens is linked to the website of the Museum and is accessible through Internet. The section also preserves about 1,500 native fungal strains, representing 800 or so species. They are important collection sources of native fungal strains and are used in various kinds of researches. Some of them are kept in the Strains Center of Food Industry Research and Development Institute.
