玄武岩 basalt

簡介

玄武岩為基性岩漿噴發所成的熔岩流凝固而成,主要組成礦物為斜長石和輝石,為分布最廣的基性細粒火山岩,顏色為黑色、暗灰、褐色或暗紅色,其化學成分相當於深成岩類之輝長岩。玄武岩其組織有緻密塊狀者,亦有多孔狀。多孔狀玄武岩其孔隙常有方解石、文石、石英等所充填而成杏仁狀結構。玄武岩熔岩流在印度西部、我國海南島北部、台灣之澎湖群島等地均有分布,岩石比重為2.9~3.2。大部分海洋地殼皆由玄武岩所造成。
