Platyhelminthes

Introduction to platyhelminthes

The Platyhelminthes, or flatworms, are divided into five groups: free-living terrestrial, aquatic, and oceanic planarians, parasitic flukes and tapeworms. The body features are bilaterally symmetrical, flat and vermicular in free-living species. The sensory organ is on the head, there are no blood vessels, and most are hermaphrodites.
