~~ Introduction ~~
| Chalocoprite consists of three elements: copper, iron, and sulfur and usually a small amount of silver, gold, manganese,arsen (As),selenium (Se) and tellurium(Te). Pure chalcopyrite has the brass yellow color, readily tarnishing to copper green when exposed to the air and weathering. Chalcopyrite and pyrite are much alike, but chalocoprite is more yellowish and lower in hardness. The black-green streak can be used for identification. Chalocopyrite is one of the widely distributed minerals; meanwhile, it is an important source for refining copper.
