What is a rock core?
To gather first-hand information on the actual geological structure and gather data that tells us about the characteristic structure of the different rock strata and other geological structures, core drilling is used to obtain a cylindrical sample of the rock layers. This cylinder of material produced by the drill is called a core sample.
