The National Museum of Natural Science, or NMNS, has participated in the first and second phases of the Taiwan E-learning and Digital Archives Program to construct an archive database and portal site covering six major academic disciplines and over 30 subjects in the field of Natural Science and Humanity and Culture. To attain this goal - promoting internationalization of digital archives and establishing networks of international collaboration, and facilitating and exchanging the results of digital archive and e-learning programs, the NMNS has started taking part in the planning of the second subprogram (Digital Taiwan- Culture & Nature Portal) under the eighth program (Oversea Promotion and International Collaboration Initiative of the Digital Archive and E-learning Program) of the Taiwan e-learning and Digital Archives Program since 2008; and engaged in five major tasks: 1) internationalization of e-learning and natural science digital archives; 2) internationalization of Taiwan feature demonstration; 3) collaboration and exchange among museums of natural science and international organizations; 4) International Children’s Village; and 5) evaluation of internationalization requirements and program results.
