Shape

      

Fish traps were funnel shaped and were mainly made using the twining method. The materials used were bamboo, rattan and hemp thread. A complete trap had needed a pipe; at the bottom of the outer pipe was an upside down funnel, with the two tied together using rattan bark. Both had mouths of the same size. The trap cover was attached to the trap ring by rattan bark.  　　The materials used included small bamboo strips, thick bamboo strips, rattan hoops and bark, thin hemp thread, cotton thread.
