Binan knives were divided into weapons "tadaw" and daily use ones "kamut". Both were used mainly by men. In the early days, weapon knives were used for head hunting, while daily use ones were used in daily life and hunting, farming and fishng. Today, Binan knives are worn mainly with ceremonial attire on special occasions.
　　Normally,weapon knives can only be worn by men of the "basalang" age group, but daily use knives are not subject to this restriction and can be worn by younger men of the "miabutan" age group.
