Introduction

¡@¡@Named in 1884 from the Greek for "two kinds" or "sexes," in reference to the presumed presence of both cuprous and cupric ions.Consisting of copper and sulfur, the composition of digenite may vary between Cu1.9S and Cu1.5S. Small amounts of iron may be present and part of the sulfur may be replaced by selenium (Se).Usually formed in a massive habit, digenite, a rare octahedral mineral, often occurs in copper deposits.
