Introduction

Same as realgar, orpiment is composed of arsenic and sulfur; however, the chemical formula of realgar is AsS, while that of orpiment is As2S3. Both of them are low epithermal deposits and they are in paragenesis very often.The color and streak of orpiment are yellow, distinctive from the orange color of Realgar.
