Occurences
Pyrite is the most widely spread sulfide. It can be found in all kinds of rocks, and also exists in coal beds.(1) A lot of pyrite would gather in hydrothermal environment along with galena, sphalerite, pyrrhotite, arsenopyrite. (2) Usually in the forms of concretion or compact massive crystals in sedimentary rocks and coal beds. |
