Introduction
Mainly composed of antimony and sulphur, stibnite occasionally also contains a small portion of gold, silver, copper, iron and lead. Stibnite crystals are often columnar or acicular with distinct striations often parallel to the crystal on the surface.Stibnite is a major ore of antimony, mostly found in low-temperature hydrothermal veins, hot spring deposits and volcanic sublimates. Hunan Province in China is well-known for its production of stibnite. |
