Introduction

General color of Amritodus pistacious brown, eyes black, vertex with anterior deep brown oval area, face with yellowish transverse brown spot above (an extension of the spot on vertex): pronotum with transverse black discal area; tegmina brown. The trivial name of the new species refers to its host plant Pistacia chinensis. This species differs from Amritodus atkinsoni (Lethierry), by having a single spot anteriorly on vertex that slightly extends into the unspotted face, whereas A. atkinsoni has two colored areas on the vertex and a very ornamented face. So far, there is only reference of this species, the description based on the description of Huang and Maldonado (1992).
