Behavior
The Formosan yuhina has a long crest extending
backwards from the forehead. The crest is nut-brown on the front
half and off-white on the rear half. Its body is mostly olive
gray while its belly is yellowish-white. There are some black
fine lines on its throat and chest and also some nut-brown feathers
in the middle of its belly and on the ventral side of its tail.
There is a black arc running from the base of its lower beak,
across the side of its throat to the back of its ear feather.
It has brown wings, black beak and yellowish brown feet. Total
length: 120 mm; beak length: 9-12 mm; wing length: 57-64.5mm;
tail length: 41.5-48 mm.
