The materials used were bamboo and rattan collected from the wild. It was prepared into strips of the required size. The usual method was the twilling method. Each raddle was separated by at least one raddle and interwoven with the vertical raddle. The interweave of the adjacent parallel raddle was only separated by one raddle, forming diagonal raddles.
