Shape ¡@¡@The back carried woven carrying container (or basket) was carried with one strap on the forehead, a strap over each shoulder or as a combination of the two forms. They came in different sizes, but were basically similar in form--a wide mouth, with a narrower bottom and a ladder shape. Upside down "U" shaped rattan strips would serve as the basket corners. They were used mostly by women to carry items and when collecting foodstuffs. |
