　　In the past, the Saisiat's back baskets were speaker shaped, round tube shaped with a round mouth. They were made using the diagonal weave weaving method and were tightly woven. Today most back baskets have two shoulder straps and are made using the hexagonal cage work weaving method, bring a type of back basket developed from traditional Atayal baskets. These are now made using plastic as the main material.
