¡@¡@The Formosan greater horseshoe bat has a forearm length of 5.4-6cm, head and body length of around 5cm, and tail length of around 3cm. They are brown in color. They have a specially adapted nose. The upper noseleaf has a upward protuberance. On the rear end of the sella in the middle of the noseleaf is a conical bump, both sides of which have a nose lobe. The lower nose-leaf is horseshoe-shaped. The ears are wide and pointed at the end. Antitragi are present and are half the height of the ear. Both male and female bats have "dummy teats" on the top of their mons pubis. Breeding female bats have conspicuous dummy teats, which the infant may clasp. Except the thumb, all other digits are clawless. Head & body length: 5cm, tail length: 3cm, weight: around 25g, dental formula:1123/2133=32, toes: five digits on each limb (the digits on the forelimbs are enclosed in the wing membrane).
