¡@¡@Head, chest, neckwear forms were similar. The thread that joined the items was usually made from rattan, hemp or silk. The items were usually rectangular or square shell pieces, shell plates, pieces of animal bone. The sides of the shell pieces etc would have small holes through which they were connected to other shells pieces and bone pieces etc. Some ere made by joining nail shells, small bronze bells, agate, colored glass or ceramic beads. A single material could be used or a combination used.
¡@¡@Amis especially liked decorative items made from shell plate (neck, chest and headwear) because it was white and wouldn't change color. Neckwear made from large shell plate was mainly worn by men while women used smaller shells plates. No matter if they were newly made or inherited these were the property of the individual owner. More precious items would be acquired by trading or purchasing and would be regarded as family property.
