Playing method

      

The Bunun's bow harp used a harmonic playing method. Rhythm was created by using the mouth's resonance to control the string.It had a two tone musical scale, using pressing the strings, plucking the strings and the resonance of the mouth to play.   　　When playing the party with the bow bridge ?? would put the bow on top and place their mouth against the back of the bow about 10 cm from the top, with the left hand holding the bow about the 15 cm point (the bow was held between the thumb and index finger). The thumb was used to press the strings and adjust their vibration to change the pitch of the sound. The right hand would pluck the strings, with rhythm achieved by changing the shape of the mouth. 　　 More than two harps playing together, bamboo mouth organs and harps playing together and harps accompanying singing were the usual harp playing forms.Today, harps can often be heard playing together with mouth organs and 5 string harps.
