Categorization of the fossil invertebrates in the National Museum of Natural Science

Fossil invertebrates are the most common type of fossil seen in Taiwan. Most of the collections in the National Museum of Natural Science are from the Cenozoic layer in Taiwan; collections from other regions such as mainland China, Indonesia, Japan, Russia, Europe, Africa, North America, South America, and Australia have also been accumulated. These include: (1) large fossils: coelenterates, impunctates (insects), mollusks, arthropods, echinoderms, graptolites, etc. (2) Microfossils: foraminifera, radiolaria, ostracods (crustacea), and moss animalcules.
